Judge Ginina A. Jackson-Stevenson

Judge Ginina A. Jackson-Stevenson was appointed to the Circuit Court in December, 2023. Prior to becoming a Circuit Court Judge, she served for over three years as a Family Law Magistrate on the Circuit Court. She presided over child support, custody, emergency hearings and uncontested divorce matters.

Before her appointment as a Magistrate, Judge Jackson-Stevenson operated a solo law firm for ten years. She handled primarily family law matters, criminal cases, personal injury cases and police misconduct matters in Maryland state and federal courts.

From 2003 to 2010, Judge Jackson-Stevenson served the people as a criminal defense attorney in the Office of the Public Defender. As an Assistant Public Defender, she tried felony and misdemeanor cases and worked in mental health and drug treatment courts.

Not only has Judge Jackson-Stevenson served as an attorney, but she also served as an educator. From 2010-2014, Judge Jackson-Stevenson, served as an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law. She taught appellate advocacy to the Frederick Douglas Moot Court team. For five years, her teams ranked nationally among competing law schools and received awards for both Best Oral Advocate and Best Written Brief. From 2015-2017, she taught the Mock Trial Program at Archbishop Spalding High School.



Judge Jackson-Stevenson is an active member of several bar committees, including, Magistrate Sub-committee member, past Chair for the Magistrate’s Conference Planning Committee, member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Anne Arundel Bar Association Family Law Division and Diversity and Inclusion Committees, Trustee for the James C. Cawood, Jr., Inn of Court (Past President for two terms), Vice-chair of the Anne Arundel County Local Pro Bono Committee, Anne Arundel County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and Fellow of the Maryland State Bar Association Leadership Academy.



Formerly, she served on the Board of Directors for the Pro Bono Resource Center, where she co-chaired their annual Partners for Justice Conference and Awards and Recognition Committee, Board of Directors for the Anne Arundel County Y.W.C.A., Anne Arundel County Trial Courts Judicial Nomination Committee, and Character Committee for the State Board of Law Examiners. She is also an active member of her sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., where she has held several leadership positions.

Judge Jackson-Stevenson is a graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law where she served in leadership.

She is also the recipient of the 2024 Legacy of Leadership Award from Zeta Phi Beta, Inc. Rho Eta Zeta Chapter of Anne Arundel County. Also in 2024, she received the Michell Obama Award from County Executive Steuart Pittman and the Caucus of African-American Leaders. Judge Jackson-Stevenson also received the 2024 Social Action Award from Phi Beta Sigma, Inc., Pi Zeta Sigma Chapter of Anne Arundel County. Additionally, she was recognized by chapters around the state and received the 2024 Civil Servant Award from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Beta Alpha Tau Zeta Chapter of Baltimore County.

She has also served as presenter and keynote speaker for several organizations.
